We are now in a Venus retrograde period. In astrology, we say a planet is in "retrograde" when its ecliptical orbit appears to be moving backwards from our viewpoint on Earth. When venus retrogrades, it affects the things we value: love and money. Old relationships can be rekindled and finances can seem to take a backwards step. Venus will be retrograde till mid April.
To find out where retrograde venus brings energy to your chart, read on...
Venus is retrograding in your sign so this retrograde period will affect you the most. Old flames may be rekindled, if so then it is a positive move and likely lead to a committed relationship. If you've been having relationship difficulties, then the relationship may not survive this period. However, if your problems are only recent, then separations are often only temporary.
Being ruled by Venus, this period will affect you more than most. People may resurface from the past and force you to deal with deeply buried past hurts. If you do the work, this could be a healing time for you.
Misunderstandings in your community could come about at this time. You may also renew old friendships and this will be a pleasant time of reminiscing.
Venus retrograde will be affecting Your career prospects so don't expect any promotions this month. Instead focus on doing the grunt work and you will be rewarded later this year.
You may hear from people overseas that you thought had disappeared into the ether. Don't believe everything they say and beware spammers. You may also be reflecting on academic goals and whether these are actually true for you. Unexpected academic glory may be showered on you.
Venus could be causing all sorts of dramas with your banking, investments or inheritances this month. Be very careful with money managers and beware swindlers.
Venus will be affecting your personal and business relationships and some will be feeling the strain. However, an on/off again affair could turn serious over the next few months.
Venus retrograde will be impacting on your health and well being so it is not a good time to undergo surgery. However, if you have been putting off going to the dentist for some time now, then book an appointment asap. If you don't, then circumstances will likely force your hand anyway, so you may as well get it over and done with.
You may hear from people overseas that you thought had disappeared into the ether. Don't believe everything they say and beware spammers. Venus will bring old lovers back into the picture now. It is likely to be a fun period so enjoy it while it lasts.
Venus retrograde will be affecting home and family, so go gentle on your relatives. They are likely all feeling the pressure from Venus.
Venus retrograde is not a good time to be signing contracts as they are not likely to stick, or worse - be financially devastating. If you were thinking of making a large purchase on a whim, such as real estate, then put that on the backburner till April.
Happy Birthday! It will be a quieter birthday for you and I feel that you will be focusing more on your important relationships or family. You won't have the need or desire to celebrate with your wider entourage this year. Venus retrograde is hitting you in the back pocket, so be careful not to overspend and keep track of the bills.

A note on Sun sign horoscopes
Astrology is not magic, nor is it fortune telling. It is a completely different discipline to a card reading or palm reading. Astrology does map out the individual’s inherent talents and gifts that they bring into this lifetime and learning about your natal chart can help you direct energy and focus into the right areas of your life.
For example, if your natal Sun lies in the second house, you have the talent to be financially successful. However, it doesn’t mean that you can then put your feet up and wait for the money to come rolling in. More likely than not, it would indicate a successful career which is dependent on your own efforts, rather than coming into money from say a lottery win.
However, consulting your “star” sign is often helpful for people in their everyday lives. Your “star” sign is actually your Sun sign – the sign of the zodiac that the sun was “in front of” at the moment of your birth. Of course, this was what the ancient astronomers thought back 3000 years ago when they devised the zodiac system. You dear reader, of course know that it is not the sun that moves at all, but us on planet Earth that revolves round the sun; but the principles of psychological interpretation remain the same.
It is important to note, that although your Sun sign is very important in your birth chart, it is not always the most dominant aspect. Your Moon and Venus sign are just as important as is your Ascendant. Most people would benefit greatly from reading the horoscope for their Ascendant over and above the one for their Sun sign. To determine your Ascendant though you will need to know what time you were born, so your natal chart can be drawn. I often get instant strong reactions to this from clients who claim they don’t know their birth time. But most of the time, a quick phone call or text to their mother or father, or other close relative will give them a pretty accurate picture. From there, it is pretty easy for a competent Astrologer to find your exact time and draw up your chart. For example, no birth time is publicly known for best selling author J K Rowling, who is notoriously private. However, it didn’t take much for me to come up with a potential birth time of 9.30am which would fit with what we know about her. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that I will ever be able to verify this birth time officially as I suspect she has kept these personal details private on purpose.
If relatives cannot shed any light on determining your time of birth, then you can check hospital and government records as birth times are officially recorded in most countries, although unfortunately not listed on birth certificates for most of us.
